Who doesn't love a Dog

Mom and I decided to take a 2 night break

From the Olympics

Growing up our family raised show dogs

My parents were known as 

Owner, Breeder, Handlers

Also, my mom was a dog groomer

And eventually opened a pet shop

 

The Westminster Dog Show

Was a huge event that we watched every year

Mom and I have tried to watch it ever since

Tonight and Tomorrow

Yes, The Show is on LIVE

CNBC - Tonight

USA - Tuesday Night

Tonight are the following groups

Hound

Toy

Non-Sporting

Herding

Tuesday night are the following groups

Sporting

Terrier

Working

We will be especially watching the Sporting Group tomorrow

 

We raised and showed

English Springer Spaniels

 

We had Many of them

I just love their sweet faces

The above photos are not our dogs

I wasn't able to dig into my mom's pictures

On such short notice

But most of ours were liver and white

We did have one black and white

We did have one English Cocker Spaniel

However, the Springers were a bit more docile

Love Doggies

I only have one now

And he's a little mutt but Very Loved

It could NOT have been a more beautiful event

Unfortunately for me
During the middle of the reception
Something took place that sent me into a bit of a melt down
I spent 20 minutes outside shedding tears
And was unable to pull it together enough
To continue to enjoy 
So I slipped out early

But I know they partied on late into the night
And a fabulous time was had by all

Just a Few Thoughts

Having a migraine on a Friday night
Is just Not fun
I'm praying it's gone soon
I am going to a Huge wedding tomorrow
And I sure want to feel Great

This is Sam

Sam is almost 6 years old

He spent the day at the Vet yesterday

We updated all of his shots

And he had his teeth cleaned

Wow, what a difference that has made

His breath is much more tolerable :)

On my office wall

I decided to just start over

That is a project I will work on this weekend

I'm going to do some shopping

Around other parts of my home

I will post next week when I have finished

They Got Me

I was walking out of the grocery store

On my way home this afternoon

And my headache spoke to my weakness

Glad I only had a little $$$ in my purse

 

And Finally
My mom is on her way over to my house now
I invited her to come stay with me
During the Olympics
She loves them as do I
I can't remember a time that I haven't watched every minute
Of the Olympics that I could possible watch

I am looking forward to the Opening Ceremony tonight
I know it's already over
But I still Love watching
I've heard that the opening is Very
Informative about the history of Russia
Should be interesting

I love sports and always have
I don't play ANY
I' don't like anybody throwing anything at me
I don't want people chasing me around
I played a bit of tennis as a youth 
And was actually pretty good at archery
But team sports and I don't get along

However, 
Watching is a treat
I love competition
I love the Red, White, and Blue
Will be rooting loudly for the USA
As I am a sappy, patriotic American

I'll root on the underdog as well
My favorites will be Figure Skating
Bobsledding and the new Slope-Style snow boarding
But I also like skiing, the half pipe and everything else
I might even watch a hockey game or two

A Few More Adjustments

Hi Friends

You may remember I shared this photo a few days ago
I had cleaned out my coat closet
And have an abundance of blankets and throws
See them piled at the bottom of the closet

I have been wanting to purchase

An old wooden ladder to layer the throws on

But have been unable to find one

On my way home from work today

I decided to stop at one of my favorite places

(side note)
I love shopping at Hobby Lobby

The music is calming and relaxing

Great after a long work day

I appreciate that it is a Christian owned company

And they are closed on Sunday's

So that their employee's can spend time with their families

And attend corporate worship services if they choose to

Anyway,

I was thrilled when I found this beauty 

In the 50% off Clearance aisle

It may not be an old wooden ladder

However it is perfect for what I wanted it for

And it there will be NO splinters

I may change up the throws that I put on it

But I am SO happy with the purchase

And, I had been carrying some $$ that I had received

As a gift last summer

So I didn't blow my budget

Also,

I shared the above photo

When I cleaned out my office a couple weeks ago

I mentioned that it needed more decor or something

Today I found a nice piece that I truly love

Plus it is the perfect colors

 

Here is the same spot today
The large key and the doorknob hanger
Are actually the same color
Although it doesn't look like it here
I'm still not super happy with the look
I like each of the pieces
But it just isn't giving me the right feeling

HELP
I'm just not great at putting it all together
Anybody out there have suggestions

More Pillows????

I have kept myself busy this weekend with small tasks

The front closet had become a catch all

So I wanted to clean it out a bit

As you can see it was rather messy

Winter throws and Christmas wrap

Had all been tossed in

 

I took everything out to vacuum

And then tossed a few things out for the donation load

I still have too many throws 

But for some reason it is hard to get rid of them

I think I am a linen hoarder

Anyway

At least the closet is clean and tidy

 

I made a trip to Costco 

To pick up a few necessities

AND to help prepare for doing my taxes 

When my youngest son saw the pillows

His first words were:

"Those aren't for your bedroom are they?"

I have NO idea Why he would say that

 

Oh, maybe it's because I already have 8 pillows on my bed

And 2 more in the closet!

Nope, they are for the living room

I had zero pillows in there

Now I have 2

Yep, I think she is a linen hoarder for sure :)
