Urgent Prayer Request

Hi Friends,

I come to you tonight with a Prayer Request
For my Sweet Daughter In Love
Melissa

Pictured in the center of this photo
With her hubby (my son) and their 3 daughters and my 2nd son

She was admitted to the hospital last night
With critically low hemoglobin and iron levels

She has had 2 blood transfusions and a unit of iron

They are performing tests
But no resulting diagnosis at this point

Her hubby has been by her side the entire time
Her girlies (My 3 K's) are with their other grandparents tonight
Hoping they will be here by Thursday

Please pray that doctors are able to figure out
Why she is so terribly iron deficient
And are able to come up with a plan to treat her
And get her home to her family

Thank you so much friends
I will keep you updated as I receive news

Blessings to you all

Always looking to find JOY in the midst

A Little More Red * White * Blue *

Hi Friends,

It certainly was a busy Birthday week for my boy
He had several friends stay at the house
From Monday through Friday
With all that life involves and having
All those big hungry boys around here
I just haven't had time to do much blogging
But I wanted to thank each of you
Who left birthday wishes for Matthew
He was so excited to see and read them all
Thank You!!

I thought I'd share just a few more
Of my Red, White, and Blue decorations

I did go to Sweet Salvage last Saturday (06/20)
And found just a couple small items
Had a great day
It was kind of 'my time' before the Birthday Stuff

I've put up a few more of my June/July decorations
I've had the little Boyds Bear for several years
He adds a fun touch
I placed some of my patriotic jingle bells in my #3 tin

I found the above wooden banner
For just a couple dollars at Merchant Square
Love that place

These Patriotic saying cards
Were picked up at Sweet Salvage
Should have gotten more
But love the ones I did pick up

Ordered this sweet flag pillow from Etsy
The workmanship is excellent
Love this piece

This is all on my entry table
And...

Decor just wouldn't be complete without a few quilts
These are on the entertainment center
Above the TV
I love looking at them

Well, that's about it for this post
I have a tiny project I did yesterday
That I may share in a couple of days

Until next time
May you enjoy your day
And find something to be Joyful About

Blessings

This Boy .. Happy 30th

It was November 1, 1985 when we met you for the first time.
You were just over 4 months old and weighed about 8 pounds
You were the cutest little 4 month old I had ever seen
Although you came to us as a foster child
I had no doubt that you would be ours forever ... someday

The social worker told us not to get our hopes up
Not to expect too much from you
And to remember that the status of your future was up in the air
She told us you might be deaf, blind and paralyzed on one side
She told us that you may never walk or talk
And honestly they didn't even know if you would live very long
They really didn't know what your prognosis was at that point

We were soon to find out that your diagnosis was
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
With mild cerebral palsy and mental retardation
But I will tell you
That Never bothered us
We loved you from the moment we met you
And prayed everyday that we would get to keep you in our family

The next 2 years were filled with medical appointments
Therapy sessions and visit to your birth family
Lots of tears were shed and laughter was shared
You brought joy to everyone that met you

The day you turned 2 1/2 we walked into the
Mono County Courthouse
And were so excited when Judge Roberts
Signed the papers to allow you to live with us
from that day forward

There were many difficult days during those 2 1/2 years
But we believed it was God's plan for you to be with us
And we just trusted that HE would complete our family
And He Did!!

We have walked through our share of ups and downs
Fears and Joys have landed on our doorstep numerous times
But I would not want to change any of it for the world

Doctors can never predict what God has planned
Nobody can determine our future or the outcome of our lives
It is in God's hands to orchestrate our time here on earth
And I believe HE has done an amazing work in You

You make me laugh and cry
You challenge my faith
You open my eyes to see things in new ways
You tug on my heart strings
Your smile melts my momma heart

Happy 30th Birthday
You are My Joy

I Think This Is Just How It Will Be

Hi Friends,

I keep thinking I am going to get a project done to share
But quite frankly
Because of THIS:

I just don't think I have enough energy
To accomplish one project

So, this summer (Thursdays)
Will be spent with These:

Sweet And Precious Girlies
Hanging out Here:

Yes!
It really IS all I can imagine doing when it is 115 outside
And Yes!
We have umbrellas IN the pool
To help keep up cool

So,
Although I am going to continue to come visit
All of your Beautiful blogs
And see all of your wonderful projects
I will be sharing photos
Of my back yard Paradise

Well, at least that is 1 project I DID
Complete before the real heat hit

May your days be blessed
May you see JOY in the simple things of life

May you pray for our country
And the families of those affected by last nights horror!

My Heart Aches for Them!!

Because It's Flag Day

Hi Friends,

Well, although I never was able to figure out why
My camera will not download pictures to my computer
My son told me that since I purchased a new PC last week
It probably had a card reader installed
YES, it did
So, I've learned something new
How to use a card reader :)
 Thank you for your suggestions!

And now
Because it's flag day
I thought I'd share my 3 K's art projects from Thursday
And a few little decorations around the yard

Each week of the summer I try to plan an art project for the girls
This past Thursday we had a Patriotic theme
I set out a bunch of items and let the girls create

My K~Bug made a pencil holder for her desk
She also had her braces put on Monday
I've never seen her Smile so much
She is SO happy to have them on
Love her to pieces

K~Bel loved cutting and gluing
She used many beads
Then wrote her name and drew a little
She is such a joy

I wasn't sure K~Baby was going to get to create this time
I think spending time in the pool
Wore her out
But she woke up just in time to have a bit of fun

She wanted hers to look like K~Bug's
She did her own cutting and gluing
She's is such a little Joy

I know that they had so much fun
Not sure what this next Thursday holds
But I'm sure it will include swimming

I found these cute little pinwheels the other day
I placed them in a backyard planter
The girls will probably take them home
But they look nice for today

Added a Patriotic themed cross and the word America
To my back door
It's just enough to add some color
And help up to remember and be grateful for our Country
And our Flag

This flag is on the front walkway
It will need to either be painted or replaced next year
The heat and sun sure do a number on painted art

My wreath will have to be replaced next year as well
I noticed when I put it up
That the ribbon and burlap are very brittle
It won't make it another year
So, I'm enjoying it this year

And just because:
Today was actually the First day I have put a
Swimsuit on this season
I hadn't been in the pool yet
I just sat on the side the other day
When the girls were in

I bought a new swimsuit last year
Never wore it because it was too tight
Put it on today and it's too big
Hmmm...I like that problem
Anyway, I totally enjoyed swimming
And doing laps and relaxing in my little piece of Paradise

And Just in case you were wondering:

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened on that day in 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. The United States Army also celebrates the Army Birthday on this date; Congress adopted "the American continental army" after reaching a consensus position in the Committee of the Whole on June 14, 1775.

May you Enjoy the Week Ahead

Frustrated Photographer

Hi Friends

I have so many photos to share with you

However,

My camera is causing my grief

All of a sudden every time I try to download photos

I just get a busy signal on my camera

I've tried 2 different computers

One uses XP the other 8.1

I've put a new battery in my camera

I've turned it off and on several times

I've tried two separate SD cards

I've rebooted both computers

I purchased a new cable (just in case it was bad)

I'm now SO FRUSTRATED

Not sure what to do??????

I've heard someone talk about using a card reader????

Not sure what that is or how to use it

I've always downloaded straight from my camera

Any other suggestions???

Thank you in Advance

So tonight you get an oldie

Last Week In Pictures

Hi Friends

I certainly have no idea where this past week went
I can't believe I didn't blog or even visit much

So, Instead of trying to come up with something special
I decided to share a few photos of my week

Besides the normal everyday stuff
Like work, house cleaning, laundry, cooking,
Grocery shopping, baby sitting grands and the like

I also got to

Take my son to this place
Yep, it's IKEA

This is one my 'M's really good friends
And I mean 'really' good
Because while at IKEA
M and I purchased this

It's a loft bed
And after we brought it home
M and his friend put it together while I met some friends for lunch

And guess what
It turned out great
M slept on it last night and didn't even fall out
He Loves having the space underneath it
He has created a fun office/video game play room

While the boys put the bed together
I went downtown and met some long time friends for lunch
They happened to be in town for a conference
I parked on level 5 of the parking garage and walked
To the convention center

Then I had to walk through the entire center to find them
And once I did we walked a few blocks away for lunch
We walked back to the center
Then I walked to the opposite side again
Back to the parking garage and up to the 5th level

HA HA ... You thought I took the stairs
Mr. Elevator ... I'm here
I honestly thought about walking the stairs
But with the amount of walking I had already done
And as hot as it was at 2PM
The elevator won out

Today I got to go help Celebrate my sister's oldest
Grandchild's 10th birthday
My K~Bug on the left, my sister's "G" on the right
Cousins who totally love hanging out together

My 3 K's and I at the party
I love these 3 so much

Today I also had to tackle the back yard
'Lawn' area that has been ignored and is
Really only a weed patch
Worked out there 2 hours
Bagged up 7 bags of weeds from the past two weekends
And got everything out to the curb for
The quarterly 'bulk' trash pick up this week

Did all that weeding and yard work
So one of these days
I can enjoy this:

SOMEDAY ...

Have a wonderful week
I'm going to try and get by to visit this week
And even blog a bit
