These Girls

Hi Friends,

This is the time of year 

In the desert South-West

When we play outside as much as possible

We don't get much in the way of winter

But summer is so terribly HOT that 

We can't play outside at all

Since I had the two smallest K's on Thursday

We took a field trip to the park

 

These little girlies bring me so much Joy

They bless my heart every time I see them

I can not imagine my life without them

 

I found this heart shaped rock on our way home from the park

I think it went home with K-bel

At least she asked me to wash it for her

Before she held it all day

They Rock My World

On a side note:

My brother may need emergency surgery tonight

I'm waiting for a phone call

Doing a bit of fluffing

Hi Friends,

Well, it's been raining in Arizona for 3 days

I decided I'd do a bit of fluffing in my bedroom

Since I can't work outside much this weekend

All fluff really means today is 

Cleaning :)

 

This dresser belonged to my mom's parents

I love it

Yet, I am almost ready to paint it

(Don't faint mom)

I bought this piece at a flea market

Many years ago

It's gong to get some paint as well

 

One of my favorite little pieces

 

This desk belonged to my hubby's dad

It did get some paint several years ago

But I'm not happy with the finished product

So, it may get a make over soon too

 

When I received this hand made basket

From my secret Santa this year

I decided to add a bit of grey to my bedroom

I love this basket and keep my remotes and what not in it

 

Although this guy is my son's doggie

He follows me everywhere

 

I bought new sheets (pewter)

Love adding the new color 

My bed is my comfort zone

I recently purchased a new mattress

And a really fluffy thick cover for it

Then I found this sweet white quilt on a super sale

And even though it's a twin

I loved adding it to the foot of my bed

I took the red/white comforter off and

Put the black/white one back on for a lighter look

Since most of my furniture is very dark

I needed to let go of some of the red

I do hope to paint all of my bedroom furniture this spring

The next two photos are the reality of my bed

 

I LOVE Pillows

And have 8 of them on my bed at all times

Yes, I even sleep with them

It makes me feel safe

 

I think I need some new pillowcases

So they match a little better

Don't you???

Well, that's my little fluff for the day

Tomorrow the kids/grands are coming to watch the Big Game

My DIL is from Washington and a Sea-Hawks fan

Sshhhhh....Don't tell her

I'm rooting for NE

Reflecting

Almost quite literally 

Reflecting in the standing pools of water

All over the Valley

Originally I was to post my dresser make over

But I will wait until tomorrow for that

Because We Had:

The craziest weather I have ever seen in Arizona

It all started about 2 AM

Rain, Lightening, Thunder

And RAIN

Here in Ahwatukee

We got about 4.5 - 5 inches of rain in about 6 hours

Chandler got nearly 6 inches

Most all of the roadways had closures

At some point

I even had to detour on my 1.5 mile drive to work

 

I don't know if this was a stupid motorist

Or if he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time

But, fortunately he was rescued

 

Because we have amazing Fire Fighters

 

At this very hour

5:30 PM

There is a sub-division in Mesa that is being evacuated

Due to retention areas that are over-flowing

At least 3 evacuation centers have been opened in the Valley

 

And this is SO sad

This is the church where both my niece and my nephew were married

Totally flooded

They are working hard to clean it up

They are believing it will be open for services on Sunday

Only God!!

I'm thankful that I didn't fill my pool like I usually do on Sunday's

Because my pool is now FULL!!

 My back yard was flooded but nothing in the house

I'm grateful for protection for all of my family

And all of our office staff (some whom didn't make it to work today)

I'm praying for those most severely affected by this weather

Thank you for praying for our community today!

 

The Fruits of my Labor Day

It was a busy day around CC's Place

Early to rise allowed me to work outside
Before it got TOO HOT
(109 today)
I was able to clean up the lawn area
Bagged up 5 bags of 
Weeds, pine needles, grass and other debris
That has landed in the yard after the monsoon

By 10 am it was too hot to stay outside
But I did go back out and hose down the entire patio

Once the weather cools down a bit
The little's will be able to play outside again
Their bikes are just waiting to be ridden
 

Yep,
It's a big patio with not much flare
Bulk trash pick up is this week
So I put all of my worn out, ripped up chairs
Out by the curb last night
They were gone in 20 minutes
Someone has A LOT of work ahead of them
 

I don't have much left out here now
But I'm hoping the tooth fairy will drop 
Some new patio furniture by while I sleep
 

While inside
I got 7 loads of laundry done
Washed, dried, folded, hung and put away

Linens are fresh and I will be ready for a good nights sleep
 

I was also able to shuck the corn
Make a roast
(well, at least put it in the crock-pot)
 

As well as clean the refrigerator out
And cut up the veggies for the week
 

I was able to chat with my mom for a bit
And talk to my bestie for an hour (that Never happens)

So, all I have left to do is
My day 1 Little Black Dress Challenge

And make a bunch of flower pens for the office

I believe my Labor Day was Very Productive

Oh, you are supposed to Rest from your Labor today
Hmmm...I Forgot :)

I hope you enjoyed some fun time 
With family, friends and BBQ's today

These Are The Days

These are the Precious Days

I live for and adore

My K-bel decided that Sam

Needed a crown

Not too sure he appreciated it much

 

K-bel and K-baby

Driving around in their automobile 

 

We enjoyed the 70+ degree weather

And played Play-Doh outside

K-bel made an ice cream cone

 

K-baby just wanted to tear little pieces off

And feed them to Sam

NO, I didn't let him eat it

 

Even though it is only January 30th

My lemon tree has decided to show it's beautiful buds

 

I Love the color of these

So pretty against the green/yellow leaves

It was a glorious day

I'm enjoying our weather

However, we have NOT had any winter

And are going to be in big trouble

Come summer when everything is super dry

I'm afraid we will be watching fires all summer :(

This week has been busy

I've worked some extra long days

And...

I've been helping a friend

Prepare for her daughters

Wedding Shower

I can't wait until Saturday

To see how it all turns out

But mostly to share in the joy

Of a beautiful union

The couple has chosen a 

'Covenant Marriage'

Which just thrills my heart

Anyway,

I hope to share some photos next week

I sure can't spoil any secrets with

Advanced photos tonight

Today

My 2 littlest K's came to play

Here they are having a little picnic in the backyard

For most of the country it is just too cold to get outside

But for those of us who live in Arizona

This is the time we can go outside

Summer and temps above 115 as soon to follow

I pray everybody is staying warm 

And protected from the snow and freezing temps

It sounds as though you will all be seeing a break 

From the cold weather in the days ahead :)
