My One Word

Happy Weekend Sweet Friends

I started this post on January 3, 2017
I believe I have already failed my Word

Accomplish is the word that has been
bombarding my thoughts for the past several weeks
So far, I have one project accomplished with
Many, Many more to go

It seems I Love to start projects but I am a
Procrastinator by nature
(Ouch)

This is the year, for numerous reasons,
I need to accomplish projects and set aside the
procrastination trait

For the first time since Mark's passing
(6 years)
I truly DO have goals and plans
Lists and desires
This is the Year to rejoice in today

The necklace I wear says: Embrace The Moment
The ring I wear says: Nothing is Impossible

With those reminders
It is My Year to Accomplish and move forward

I even went to church last weekend
For the first time in more than a year

Yes, it's a new day
A new year
A new attitude
And a new WORD

God is Able
Even in Me

Blessings~~~

Checking In...

Happy Sunday Sweet Friends

I hope you have enjoyed a Glorious Weekend
And pray the week ahead will be filled with Joy

First,
I'd like to thank my bloggy friend, Kris
Who sent me this sweet birthday surprise
My B~Day is tomorrow
But she wanted me to enjoy a few fall items
Over the past couple of weeks
Just an FYI Kris
I only ate 1 of the Belgian chocolate covered Oreos
Since I won't make myself a cake tomorrow
I will eat the other two for my Birthday Treat :)

The next 2 pictures are a little hint
About an announcement
I hope to make in the next couple of weeks

There is always a project
Going on around here

Finally
I have had my red bottle brush bushes planted
In the back yard for about 10 years
Although I've had many spring and early summer blooms
Today I found my very first Fall Bloom

New life makes me smile

Have a blessed week

Two Small Projects

Hello Sweet Friends

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today
I am always delighted to know you've been here
And honored when you leave a comment
You are so special to me

Today I'm sharing two small projects
That I did this weekend

I needed to run into Target Friday after work
To pick up a couple of storage bins
Are you like me?
You go in for one thing
And come out with so many others?

Well, Yes!
I spied this cute unfinished ladybug stepping stone
For only $3 and thought it would add some nice color to my yard
And would be a quick project

Although I used a few of my own colors
I love how it turned out
It took a couple of hours
But that is because I was also working on another project
And I kept going back and forth
While letting each color of paint dry

I'm not positive she will stay under my bottle brush
However, she matches so nicely
I thought she'd be happy here for a while

Super simple
Super inexpensive
Super cute

The second project I finished
Was this little table I share with you a week or two ago
I purchased this little telephone/bedside table
At a craft/antique show about 15 years ago
From day one, I wanted to paint it
HAHAHA
I've used it all these years
She Finally got her make over

I had a small pot of Annie Sloan discontinued paint
And plenty of wax left from another project

Because the wood is SO old and dry
It soaked up the paint quickly
And honestly I ran out

I just call it a Happy Oopsie

There are several places where the paint doesn't really cover
However, It looks very vintage/antiqued
I'm pleased with how the light grey color
Mixes with the bits of red and grey I have added to my bedroom

Someday I will learn how to take better photos

AND
Someday I will finish my bedroom
And share a reveal here

Until then
May you be blessed by all things Good
Look for Joy in the little things
And give someone a 20 second Hug

Many Blessings

Days of Labor

Hi Sweet Friends,

I hope you have all enjoyed a wonderful
Labor Day weekend
I hope you have had plenty of relaxation with family and friends

I have been SO busy the past few days
That I haven't really taken many photos
Of the list of tasks I completed during my
Not so relaxing Holiday Weekend

Saturday had me working in the morning at the office
After I came home, I had promised my son
That I would take he and his friend to Bookman's
Of course, they wanted to go to the store in Phoenix
A much longer distance than the one in Mesa
So, off to Phoenix we went
Once we left there, we went grocery shopping
And I came home to prepare dinner for them
My sister called so I met her at Hobby Lobby
Was so nice to visit while shopping
We don't get to hang out together very often
We promised to do it again next year - LOL

Sunday had me at my mom's
I took her shopping (2 1/2 hours in Target)
She doesn't get to shop very often
Then we got lunch and headed back to her house
I came home in the late afternoon
Picked up my oldest granddaughter and took her shopping
I had promised to take her to Michael's
To get all of the supplies she needed for her art class
I love spending time with her
We were talking about community service
So we decided to go by the office to feed the fish
I had her do it, her 5 minutes of community service for the day

Monday - today - was my day to get my yard cleaned up

The weed eater got a full workout
As did my arms :)
Three large black trash bags were filled
And taken to the curb

I'm so thankful that it was only about
100 degrees today
And that the skies were a bit cloudy
And it was rather humid
Because, it could have been so. much. worse!!

We have bulk trash pick up this week
So I knew I really needed to get the yard taken care of
I gave away a patio table with a fire pit
To my dil's sister - so nice that someone can use it
Some of the other items we are not using
Were put out to the curb as well
I'm hoping someone will come by and get the bigger pieces
Otherwise, they will get picked up with the garbage

I am realizing how tired I am
Even while typing, my arms are starting to ache
Must be all the weed whacking I did

So my Labor Day Weekend
Hasn't offered any rest or relaxation
But it did offer some time to help a few people Shop
Hmmm....Maybe it was relaxing after all :)

Praying you have been blessed
And have found bits of JOY in your day

Blessings

My Creative Space

Hi Friends

I am so excited today to be joining
Karen at My Desert Cottage
For her 7th annual
"Where Bloggers Create"
Link Party

My Desert Cottage

This is my first time joining in

And I've had fun getting my space ready

So, Let's take a quick tour of My Creative Space

My home is decorated with taupe walls,
Black and very dark brown furniture
White and Red accents

So You will see some of that red in my space

However,
I painted this picture this past spring
Which lead to a change of colors
In my office/craft room

My creative space is now mostly white
With touches of Beachy Blue
And those left over bits of red that I will phase out over time

As I have prepared for this post and cleaned up my creative space
It has become Very clear to me
That I like to work in a clean low key space

I've always used a curtain for the closet
Because I do not like sliders
I purchased this soft white ruffled curtain for my space
And love how it keeps everything hidden from view
What's behind curtain #1?

My ugly 20 year old file cabinet (but it works)
An 8 cube stack and my photo albums and photo boxes

I am definitely a girl who likes neat, tidy and organized
So, in the cubbies I keep small stackables with
Many of my scrapbooking items like scissors, markers,
tape, punches, etc

I also have my 12x12 papers stacked on trays
More photo albums, all of my project life supplies
Important paperwork, books and manuals

In the red bins are all of my rolls of ribbon
Yarn, glue gun and glue, CD's and a few misc items

The top shelf holds my ancient photos albums
And most of my photo boxes (filled with photos and CD's)

This wall is in progresss
It will be my inspiration wall
Right now it holds a few photos
A couple projects that need to be completed
A sweet shovel with a super beach scene painted on it
(Thank You Celeste)
And the heart hanging basket has
Lace, embroidery thread and other misc pieces

I absolutely LOVE this dresser I purchase many years ago
It holds so many items I can't list them
But I'll add just a couple photos below

On top of the dresser I put my desk hutch
My desk is in front of a window and I didn't want to cover it
So, this piece fit perfectly on the dress and makes another
Great space for storing small linenes
small paints, all of my glitters, paint brushes and other small items

I love things to be containerized so in the drawers I have used
Many small bins and containers
The containers above hold all of my tiny scrapbooking bits
As well as beads and other tiny items

I have a fetish for crochet hooks
The box is full and I have a few full sets
Don't ask :)

This is my desk and storage area
I absolutely LOVE to sit here
And just dream while watching the lizards and birds
Play along the block wall outside the window
I attempt to keep my desk cleared off
So I can create anytime I want to

On each side of the desk
I've added cabinets with closing doors
The above is the left side
I keep games, paper and a couple of projects t
hat need to be completed

One of my nieces sends me scriptures and notes
I post them on the side of this cabinet
 For inspiration and encouragement when I need it
As you can see
I also love using ironstone and milk glass
To store pens, pencils, markers and brushes

Behind the doors on the right side
I keep my camera bag and supplies
Paints and painting supplies
Stationary, bows, rubber stamps and ink
As well as folded wrapping paper and ribbons

Here's a bit of that red
I use cute boxes for storage that can also be displayed
Here I keep my 5x7 papers and small tag paper

In this box I keep small note pads, 3x5 cards
Check boxes and other small paper items

I also use lots of glass jars for
Buttons, ribbons, spools of colored wire
And some sand and sea shells from California :)

So, there you have it
My creative space
Always a work in progress
This has been so much fun putting together
I can't wait to come visit your space

Blessings to You
Happy Creating

There's Always Something To Do and Someone To Love

Hi Friends,

I thought you might be tired of seeing my Pool Wall Reveal
Check it out HERE if you missed it
So, I figured I had better put up a new post

I've been a busy girl since finishing the Wall

Thursday is granddaughter day
This past week we did art work and made pictures

K~Baby happily using scissors

And created a fun picture
Love her sweet face

 K~Bel was focused on glue and strips of paper

She also found the paper punches
And some fun stickers

K~Bug is always looking to create a card

She made this one for her Aunt
But I couldn't post until After the party

~~~~~~~
Since the pool wall is complete
I decided it was time to attack some of the
Very Over Grown Weeds
When I saw some sticking up over my 6' gate
I quickly moved to get them down
As to NOT get a 'nasty' gram from my HOA
 Some of those weeds were 7' high
You can see that the 8 pool filter cartridges are still there
Bulk trash gets picked up next week
So everything will be placed on the curb next weekend
The weeds got so bad
I could not even come out my side garage door
Luckily this is the side yard that nobody sees
However, now that we are swimming it needs to be clean
After many hours of hoeing, shoveling, and raking in the 108 degree weather
This side is 90 % complete
And this side is 90 % complete as well
Now I just have to wait for the pile to dry out a bit
And bag it up for next week
~~~~~~
Another fun thing I had the pleasure of doing
Was to do a photo shoot of my nieces oldest daughter
She will be 10 in a few days
And loves Softball
So her mom wanted to get a few nice photos
I only took 142 so hopefully she can find a few she likes
Here are just a few I edited last night

She's an amazing young girl
And a great subject to photograph

~~~~~~
If you are not following me on FB or Instagram
Then you didn't see this
I found this Super pretty Christmas Quilt
Queen Size
On Clearance at Kohl's
With my regular discount
I walked out of the store with it for only $14.72
Ummm...Yes, I think I will
Well, that's it this weekend for
Something to do, Someone to Love
May you be blessed this week with
Finding Joy in the Everyday things of Life
