Double The Blessing

Hi Peeps and Welcome to my Blog

My weekend was filled with preparations and
fun times with family and friends

as we enjoyed a very special

Double Baby Shower

Both my daughter-in-love and

my sister's daughter are expecting

little girls within the next 7-8 weeks

So we have a wonderful double blessing

just about to enter our lives

Cake on the left for Baby Katie
My Granddaughter

Cake on the right for Baby Elliana
My sister's Granddaughter

My (so very talented) sister created these

Cry Babies out of diapers and baby clothes

As well as made each of the girls a lap quilt

Melissa opens a gift from me

While Amber opens a gift from her mom

Both of our girls also have girls

Kori and Gabbie are cousins

And best of friends

We are praying that Katie and Ellie

will be just as close:)

Kori helps Melissa cut Katies' cake

While Gabbie and Zach help
Amber cut Ellies' cake

Later that same day...

After a day of playing and swimming these girlies

Needed some energy so they ate the cake toppers

I wonder if either of them slept?

We serve an amazing God

And I am one Nana who feels blessed beyond words

As we prepare to meet both Katie and Elliana

WHY???

I very seldom ask the question 'Why'

But really

Come on people

When you have to walk to a birthday party

In Phoenix Arizona

In July

In 116 degree heat

With a Dew Point of 60+

Why don't people tell you that your

Makeup is melting off your face

I mean, really !!

It would be less embarrassing

Than having to post this

Picture to the whole world to laugh at.

"6"

I've always called her my 'Angel Bug' so when I found these Christian Dior earrings I knew they were hers! They are actually called 'angel bug' with pearls for the bug and diamonds for the angel wings. They are just delightful and I'm sure someday she will love them.

Tonight I'm filled with emotions over this precious girl turning 6. Where does the time go? I wish I could write a wonderful script here for her birthday but I will just post pictures and let them do the speaking for me.

This is her cousin telling all about the card she made

Kori made a drawing of what she wanted her cake to look like

Here is the actual drawing

This is her reaction when she saw the cake

This is the actual cake her other 'Magee' made

VERY talented woman

Singing with the headset her daddy bought her

She and her cousin Loved them

Eating her cake

Can you guess where we went?

So blessed to have her cousin live so close

Only Yesterday

It seems like only yesterday we were entering the hospital to wait for the

birth of this precious little 'Angel Bug'.

And now tomorrow I will be able to share pictures of her 6th birthday party:)

How quickly time speeds by.

A Friend's Exciting News!!!

Oh, I am SO excited for a friend of mine!!

Two years ago I met Cindy Summers through this blog just after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. I, as well as a few other wonderful women, became prayer buddies for her and have journeyed with her as she went through surgeries, chemo and numerous other tests and treatments.

I am so happy to report that she is doing well and on the road to total healing.

Cindy is an Army Wife. He sweet hubby is Mike and has been a super support to her through this incredible journey as well as her beautiful three little girls.

The reason I am posting tonight is that we all just got word that Cindy has been chosen to play a role on the popular TV show Army Wives! **Woot Woot**

We are all so excited to see this Blessing happen for such a courageous young woman. I am also letting you know that Cindy has started "Cindy's Hope Chest" to help benefit other women fighting breast cancer. She has been holding fund raisers and all proceeds go directly to bless others while they are walking their own journey.

I hope you will stop by Cindy's blog and sent her a word of encouragement and congratulations!

You can also find her on Facebook at Cindy Martin Summers.

I will love to say some day: " I knew her when... " but mostly I am happiest to say "I know her NOW".
