I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful weekend
Mine has been very busy, again!
I visited my mom yesterday and then went
To my granddaughters 5th birthday party
However, in the midst I found time to paint
And complete the re~love of my printer's tray
This is the piece I purchased last weekend for only $18
When I first purchased it
I wasn't positive of how I was going to use it
But I did know that it needed paint
So, I got out my Annie Sloan and went to work
It took about 1 1/2 hours to paint each coat
I only did two because I wanted to keep an older look
I chose NOT to paint the outside
I really love the vintage label with font size and type
And the great drawer pull with it's own
Personality and character
I decided where I was going to use it
With a home of only 1150 square feet
I try to use my space wisely
So I had an idea to use a tiny strip of space with this tray
I'm not sure you can tell
But there is a small 4cm space between the
bottom of the closet shelf and the
Top of the shelving unit
It is between that space I decided to use the tray
I didn't have lots of time today to fill up the cubbies
But you will get the idea as you look at these photos
You know all of those bits and bobs
Buttons, ribbons, and items that you want to use
For numerous projects you have on your 'to do' list
Well, I decided to use this tray to put all of those items
Each type/color has it's own cubby
I am so very pleased with how this turned out
As you can see, I still have lots of room to fill up
And lots of colors to add
However, I Love what I see
And, I am hoping you can tell
That it fit perfectly on top of the shelving unit
I do not think I could have found any other piece
That would have fit in that 4 cm space
Especially an piece that will be so very handy
While I'm crafting and looking for just the right piece
To finish out a project
Which leads me to realizing that I have a project
In the works that needs to be in the mail soon
So, I better get to it
And you can bet that as I'm using bits and bobs
For this new project
I will be placing the extras in it's new home
Thank you for stopping by
May you find Joy in the Simple Things
I love it painted white...and what a great idea to use it for crafts. I had one and don't know where it is at the moment. Having a smaller home myself I can appreciate using our space to the max. Good luck with you project.ReplyDelete
What a great piece that added so much useage to bits and pieces.ReplyDelete
I could so use a piece like this :) a cleaver space it fits in with your well thought out space.
Happy Big 5 Birthday to your grand baby who I am sure is growing fast before your eyes.
see you soon off to catch up on your posting I have missed.
Perfect fit! That was so lucky!ReplyDelete
You did a wonderful job! At first I couldn't see HOW this piece was going to fit in this tiny space, because I was thinking of it as a wall piece, not like a drawer. :-) It looks nice painted on the inside, with all of your colorful bits and pieces.ReplyDelete
You've got my mind thinking about a piece out in storage that I need to check out later this morning. Hmmm!
Have a great week Cindy ~ FlowerLady
P.S. Thank you for visiting my blog and your kind comments. Much appreciated.
Hi Cindy, Love it!! So charming and fresh in white and shows off your supplies so nicely. Perfect how your using it like a drawer. So creative. I had to hang mine on the wall and it holds a thimble collection but I love your idea and so useful. The edge left original is a great contrast.ReplyDelete
Blessings to you for a great new week.
It sure fits perfectly in that spot! I like that you left some it of as it is. I bet you will have it filled in no time!ReplyDelete
Love this re love CIndy. It looks so wonderful and was just made for that space. I like the white it shows the colors of all your bits and bobs. Very creative and wonderful.ReplyDelete
It turned out great and what a clever way to create more storage.ReplyDelete
Wow! this worked out perfectly for what you needed it for, Cindy. Great idea painting the inside white to show off the crafting pieces. I like the original outside of it, too!ReplyDelete
Cindy, it turned out great! Love it :)ReplyDelete
Love it, Cindy! That space is just perfect, and I know it will be so much easier to use your supplies now that they are divided up in the lovely tray. Plus....you have empty spaces -- room to grow!ReplyDelete
I wasn't sure when you said you wanted to paint this lovely piece, but I love how it turned out!! And how cool that it fit perfectly into that little space! What clever storage! And everything in it pops and looks so pretty!
