Almost Ready for Summer

Hi Friends

I'm working on getting ready for summer
Which will be in full swing
Starting Memorial Day Weekend
That's when I will host my first Pool Party/BBQ

And I'm also preparing to Reveal my back yard mural

The first major thing I needed to do
Was to clean all the pool cartridges/baskets/salt cells

Here's is where I started when I got home from work today

I took everything apart
You can see those large cartridges in the back
I usually replace them every couple of years
Today was the day

Now That's Much Better
The cartridges (8 of them)
Are rather pricey so I clean them every 3 months
But I have to admit
I had not done it since last summer
So - Replacement was a Necessity
Can't let them go like that.....

Evidently my pool box got left open
And rain water filled the tool bucket
Yep - looks like I need to replace all my pool tools as well

She's all clean and ready for summer swimming now
I'll spare you the bloody details of what
Lifting the top of the filter does to your hands

Wall Reveal in 2 Weeks
 I HOPE!!!

Thanks for joining me on today's
After Work Project

Getting Muriatic Acid on a paper cut
The End...

  1. Oil and steel wool and some elbow grease would clean your tools up.

I'm looking forward to seeing your mural too.

Have a great day ~ FlowerLady

  2. Cindy,
Ahhhhh to think of a swimming pool and enjoying it!!!! I know your bbq will be a big hit to open up the season. I cannot wait to see the mural I know it is going to be so cute. Enjoy getting ready for pool season to begin.

  3. Hosting a party is a great motivation for clean-up!

  4. All your work will pay off on the hot summer days. Wish I had a small pool...but not one of those kid waders. LOL. xoxo,Susie

  5. Oh, I can't wait to see your mural.

I have to say, once again, that I love the sign on your header. That is my favorite song.

  6. You must be so glad that job is finished!
    Happy Mother's Day, sweet girl!

  7. Looks like a lot of work but will be so nice to enjoy all summer!

    Have a great weekend!

  8. So exciting to be planning a pool party! I can't wait to see the mural.... Have a wonderful Mothers Day!

  9. Lots of work, Cindy! I remember those salt cells and cleaning all that, but I still think is better to have a pool here. It's too bad they don't last as long as they say they will. It's certainly impressive that you do it, because I would help a little, but mostly leave it to my husband, because it is not easy work. Happy Mother's Day. xoox Su

  10. Hi Cindy, I know this is a huge job to clean and prepare for the season. We do ours too but I know nothing about it.
Looking forward to your mural and hearing about all the fun at your first backyard BBQ.
Wishing you a special and Happy Mother's Day my friend.
    Hugs and Blessings, CM

  11. I'm stopping by to thank you for your prayers and lovely comment! I'm feeling better but it's a slow process!

Hi Friend, I read and cherish every single comment you leave! You bring Joy to my heart! Blessings, Cindy
