Happy 'LOVE' Day Everybody!!!
First I would like to thank my friend Gretchen for my very special treats:
Thank you for making what could be a difficult day special for me
And don't you worry, Cold Stone will have something my tummy will LOVE:)
Yes, Valentines Day can be a day of great Joy and Romantic Love
Or, as I have heard it called, Single Awareness Day!
It seems that if you are married or have a significant other
Then Valentines Day is Awesome
But if you are single, divorced or widowed
It can be a reminder of your loneliness
For me this year could be devastating just 7 weeks
after my husband's passing
Yet God has poured out His grace over me
And given me a strength that is not within my self
Mark and I shared a love that withstood:
A Business Loss
Deaths of many family members
A child with disabilities
A child with a drug/alcohol problem
Including a Kidney Transplant
And 30 years of life
Ours was not a perfect love
It was a committed love
A love that withstood the test of time
When we took our marriage vows
We meant them
Until Death do us part
But even that love is not the best
The Love of God on this day
and every other day of the year
Is the Love Worth Sharing
"For God so loved the world that He Gave..."
God gave us life eternal
Therefore I have HOPE of seeing my Mark again
because of that love
He gave it all...
Instead of wondering who is going to Give to Me
My heart aches to find the ones who God
desires for me to give to
Instead of wallowing in self pity today
I lift up my eyes
And ask who I can
Share His Love With
We have been blessed with a Love Worth Sharing
Who are you going to share that love with today?
Considering His Love With Great Joy,
Beautiful words Cindy. After 20 years of failed relationships, including a marriage and divorce, I'm going through the motions of the aftermath of yet another failed relationship, but this time with the man whom I thought was "the one". Valentine's Day has been very difficult for me, but I was reminded of God's love on two occasions, which lifted my spirits. I think of you often and include you in my prayers. xoxoReplyDelete
Hopping over here for a few minutes to read your blog has been the highlight of my Valentines Day.ReplyDelete
In a world of "throw-in-the-towel" marriages, it sounds like you and your hubby had the real deal I'm sorry for your loss.
God's richest blessings on you!!
You are an inspiration to me and to many others I'm sure. Your beautiful heart radiates from this post, and your strength is amazing. You and Mark had a beautiful marraige... I love how you shared all the things it withstood. Thank you for this post!
My parents rallied to our sides this Valentine's Day, taking us all out to eat. Mom also took me shopping to buy a few things. It was a good day of family loving. I'm so glad for the wealth of love that I know in my life; not just from my husband, but from family and friends and our Lord as well.ReplyDelete
I'm glad you hold that as well in your heart this day. You reflect the love of God in the way you give to others. May it be returned a hundred fold to you in the days to come.
Wow Cindy! What a great post!ReplyDelete
I read through all the trials that you and Mark had been through. And yet you both endured as you made a committment to one another. I know that you couldn't have gotten by without the Lord.ReplyDelete
During this new season of your life, I know that you will be a blessing to others. I always think of the 2 Corinthians verse where it says we will comfort others in the way we've been comforted. You understand what it is to lose your precious husband and life partner. So thankful that you have that loving relationship with the Lord. But there's always that place for your Mark.
Sending you hugs today!
Blessings and love,
Hey friend, I think of you often these days... Even in the midst of the aches of your heart you stop by to encourage me. Bless you my friend. You encouraged my heart today!ReplyDelete
