Love Cousins

Don't you just LOVE when cousins 
Have the opportunity to hang out together?

I DO

These 6 cousins got to spend some time together today

And when I asked:

"Who wants to go swimming?"

YEP
We all had a Great day

And Saturday
We get to do it all again
To celebrate somebody's 
10th Birthday!!!

I Created Today...

I'm not quite sure what got in to me today

But I decided to create

Just a little bit

Remember this photo from my kitchen failure a couple weeks ago

Well, I finally decided to take a different path

 

I was doing a bit of junkin' yesterday and found these great spoons

And this sweet wooden harp thingy

They fit nicely over the stove

So that is where they will stay for now

I may add a piece or two

But I kind of like the simplicity of these pieces

 

The above space has Never had 1 piece of decoration

On it in the nearly 20 years I have lived in my home

I just never thought about adding anything 

Last night I had an idea and stopped by Hobby Lobby

To purchase a few supplies

I am NOT an artist and don't consider myself very creative

But I thought I'd give something a try

 

I started with a blank canvas and came up with this

It is pretty much what I had in mind

I actually had fun and I like the end product

 

Before I hung the canvas I tried another new venture

I used Mod Podge (for the very first time)

And covered the wall with sheet music

 

I put the canvas up 

And then added these two bird hangers that I

Found at Hobby Lobby awhile ago for $1 each

For now I just added a couple of red heart pot holders

But I will probably add something else later

 

I do like the finished project

However, I just walked into the kitchen 

And felt a little over stimulated

I think I am more of a minimalist than I'd like to admit

The sheet music may possible get scraped off 

One of these days

I'll see how I feel in the days ahead

Now on to other news:

When my son walked in the kitchen he said:

"Mom, I want an all white kitchen"

Me too!!!

Yet, One of the last big home projects my husband did

Was to sand and refinish our kitchen cabinets

They are a beautiful light oak

And I do love them

BUT:

I really do want an all white kitchen!

What do you think?

Is there any possible way you think I can put

Emotions aside and paint my cabinets????

Do you remember when I asked:

Well,

Here is an Update

On May 27, 2014 Lulu Martinez entered the hospital for another round of chemo

The family knew this would be a tough round

But they had no idea of the fight they would be in for

As Lulu received her chemo her numbers began to drop

This is typical for anyone going through chemo

Unfortunately for Lulu during this time of being

Totally immune suppressed

She got strep, high fevers and pneumonia

Doctor's did everything known to the medical world

With antibiotics and other treatments to help Lulu recover from these infections

Lulu did not respond and in fact got worse

Between June 15 and 16

Sweet Lulu was sedated and placed on a ventilator

In the days following Lulu got worse

She was on Full life support with absolutely No response

On June 18th Lulu crashed but was revived

Lulu's life was truly and fully in God's hands

For 18 days, hundreds, probably thousands of people

Most of whom have never met Lulu

Prayed, night and day

Prayed and believed for Lulu to wake up, move, respond

Today

I am SO SO SO Grateful to post these words from Lulu's mom

Lulu Ysarua Martinez is being called a miracle. ..her strength has doctors in awe....we had doctors come meet us because they wanted to meet our girl...sisters are here talking her ear off...she is weak but determined to get home. ..laughter and love from the icu #lulustrong

I am in tears at God's Answered Prayer

Prayers are NOT always answered in this way

Sometimes the answers don't end up like this story

YET,

Today, I am so grateful for another amazing testimony

That I have the Privilege and Honor of sharing

#GodStronger

She still has a journey ahead of her

But I BELIEVE!!!

 

So This Is Phoenix

First signs of the Monsoon

Arrived with a wall of Dust

That light yellow brown color

Is just a huge wall of dust

 

 

It arrived rather quickly

 

Took over the yard and house

 

Blew things around

All of my umbrellas and chairs have been blown over

But 

This Is Phoenix

Fireworks are to go off in about 1 hour

Hmmm......

Hope your house is cleaner than mine :)

Bragging On God

There are just some days when you need to brag on God

Today is one of those days

On Sunday afternoon, after spending the day with my mom,

I pulled into my garage and noticed an odd smell

It smelled like something was burning

I got out of my car and walked around it

The odor was very strong

Although I did not see any sign of smoke

It honestly smelled like burning rubber

Or possibly burning brakes

I opened the garage side door to let the garage air out

In hopes that the odor would dissipate and

I could possibly narrow the 'area' 

Where the odor was strongest

All through the night I kept checking the garage 

The odor did not go away

Monday morning the odor was still very strong

I called to make an appointment to have my car checked

But can't take it in until Wednesday

I was quite anxious about driving it 

However there did not seem to be any warning lights on or 

Any specific odor coming from the car

I did not notice the odor when I got to work

However when I got home Monday night

There it was again

 No smoke, no signs of fire

But a Definite smell of something burning

Doing the dishes Monday night - Cold water - No hot

Hmmm...Matthew must have taken a Very hot shower

Shower Tuesday morning - COLD water!!!

 Hmmm...water heater gone a wry??

To shorten the story:

 

Yep,

I purchased a new water heater today

It seems the Elements inside the nearly 15 year old water heater

Were Burning for 2 days!!!!!

Thank you GOD for Your protection over my home and family

Thank you GOD for allowing this to happen before vacation

Thank you GOD for teaching me to always have an

Emergency Fund

Thank you GOD

I could pay cash for the purchase And Installation

Having a water heater burning for 2 days

In my garage

NOT a Good Thing

Bragging on GOD

For He is Always Good

It's A Good Thing :)
