Cousin Day and A Few Answers

Hello Sweet Friends

I hope you have enjoyed a
Wonderful Weekend

Thursday is my Joy Day
And this past Thursday was no different
Now that summer has arrived and the kiddos are out of school
I had all 3 K's
Plus my niece came over with her 3 kids
Having time to watch the cousins play together
Is so refreshing

They get along so well
And enjoy each other's company

The kids are all so busy during the school year
That summer offers a fun time for
All of them to just hang out together

I LOVE Thursday's
And
I Especially LOVE Cousin Days

On another totally unrelated note:
My Health

In recent months I have become more and more exhausted
For seemingly no reason
In my desire to be strong and independent
I self diagnosed as depression
Due to the events of the past 8 months

However, when I got to the point
Where I struggled to get out of bed
And get ready for work in the mornings
I knew it was time to figure this out

Well, after a bit of lab work and a couple
Other minor tests
We have a diagnosis of
Severe Iron Deficiency Anemia
Whew...

Honestly, I have been quite concerned
Because my dad was diagnosed with
Leukemia at my age which eventually took his life

So far, the tests are not leading in that direction
So I'm Thankful

More tests are being considered
Yet, for the next 3 weeks
This is my daily intake

We are taking a non invasive and
More gentle approach to getting my iron up
Before we look at more invasive
And more aggressive treatments and tests

I've been doing some research
And know this is a long process
I truly was hoping I'd feel better in a few days
But so far, not so much

At least I know why I've struggled to
Blog on a regular basis
By the time I get home from work
I'm pretty well finished for the day
And I've shared all the 'chores'
I've had to get done around here

I'm hoping as the weeks progress
I will find more energy
And blog more frequently
Or at least get by your blog for a visit

In the mean time
I'll be around as much as possible
And always appreciate your visits

And now
Because it is 115* outside
And I'm super HOT
I'll share one of my favorite photos
From many years ago
'In The Fall'

May you Be Blessed

  2. I have had that, at one point having no readable red blood cell count. I almost died. My blood looked like pink lemonade. Took a year for me to be normal. Do take care of yourself! The cause of my anemia was not as yours, but it is serious. Hope you are taking iron.

  3. Dearest Cindy ~ I am so glad you've figured out your health issue and hope you will be feeling more normal and healthier with each passing day.

All of the kids look like they are having a great time.

I'm going to have someone come show me how to get my Jacuzzi pump going again. It's been years since DH showed me how and this time I'm going to write down what I need to do. :-) I'd like to enjoy my Jacuzzi this summer.

Love that photo at the end. It makes my heart ache for your loss. I woke up depressed and missing my DH after some dreams last night and a verse in my devotional this morning was just right for this morning, Isaiah 51:12a ~ "I, even I, am he that comforteth you." WOW! I love it when that happens, the right bit of scripture or encouraging words coming just when we need them.

  6. Dear Cindy, Oh the joy seen in the pic of the cousins enjoying the pool and each other. What a blessing.
I am so sorry to read about your severe anemia. I had this many years ago and I understand the challenge and the more the over tired feel. My prayers will be with you as you recover over time. I know you will be restored to better health. In the meantime, just take care and know you are thought of and sent best wishes.
Blessings and prayers dear one. xo
    p.s. love the last photo.

  7. Oh Cindy sorry about how you have been feeling. The iron will take time to rebuild your blood cells but it will work and you will start to feel more energy soon. With all you have going on I am sorry this is on top of you know too. I owe you a big email or call soon. I just have been so buried under getting settled in this new nest. Hugs.

  9. Cindy, so sorry you are not feeling well. Glad they were able to make a diagnosis so quickly and hope you get back on your feet soon. It must be hard to work and keep up your other duties when you feel like that. Don't worry about blogging, we will miss you, but know that it will be for only a short time. Love your picture. You must have some wonderful memories..Take care of yourself, xxo Judy

  10. Dearest Cindy, I'm so thankful you got a diagnosis and not one that started in C. I have friends that are anemic also and one that take Iron, but it backs up her system if you know what I mean. I hope you notice an improvement quickly-you'll be in my prayers.
    Hugs, love and prayers.
