Just Getting Started

Hi Sweet Friends

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving

I am just getting started on my Christmas Decor
I was hoping to get more done this weekend ...

Yet, I'm pleased that my teeny tiny tree
Is up and decorated

I plan to do my annual December Daily

So be looking forward to daily updates
On how I am making this Christmas Season special

I've always loved Christmas
However, it has been difficult
Over the past few years
Because
As many of you know
My husband passed away on
Christmas Eve

SO
I work really hard
To find JOY in each day
As we head toward Christmas Day

Join me in Finding JOY
Throughout December

Blessings!!!

  3. I also lost my husband and the memories of the many Christmases we spent together make me smile and be thankful for them. I do feel a bit sad at times, and that is wholly to be expected. Christmas will never be the same, but it can be new with others in my life. It is all about Christ and his love and sharing it with those in our lives. Bless you during this time and keep the memories close to your heart.

  5. Cindy,
It is so inspiring that you share how even with this time of year being hard with the loss of Mark on Christmas Eve you still try and go on and find joy. That is such an inspiration to others that struggle at this time of year with profound loss. You are an angel and inspiration to see that even out of the hardest heart break and loss you can still find a little joy in life. Thank you for sharing this today. You are helping so many by showing your strength and courage to move forward.
    Love and hugs,
    Kris

  6. Cindy, you have my utmost respect and admiration. I know it must be hard for you this time of year but you choose joy. It's not always easy to do that and I know a few people who I wish could follow in your footsteps. Hugs to you.

  7. Dearest Cindy ~ Your post touches my heart. I lost my Mark Dec. 9th 2012, his birthday is the 20th of Dec. I'm just starting to think about decorating for this Christmas. We have much to be thankful for in spite of our loss. Our dear husbands are with God almighty and that is something to celebrate.

You encourage me with your posts. You are a light and a testimony of God's grace and tender mercies.

Love, hugs and continued prayers for you and your son ~ FlowerLady

  8. Cindy, I know that losing your sweet husband on Christmas Eve would have to be so very difficult. May you be blessed to focus on the wonderful fond memories you had with him instead of the loss this Christmas!
    hugs,

  9. Cindy you are an inspiration and I feel your warmth and sincere words in my heart. When my son passed in Nov. of 2013 I felt my world had stopped and truthfully it did - but then it started back up again with precious memories to fill my heart. The first Christmas without Chris I purchased a star part of the Big Dipper named in honor of him. Stars have become a new Christmas tradition and feels comforting.
I look forward to reading and viewing your holiday decorating and sharing.
    xoxo,
    Vera
