Finally...A Touch of Fall

Life has been busy around CC's Place
So, I have not had time to put up any fall decor

Until tonight

Nothing else is done outside
But I do have my wreath up

One small ceramic pumpkin in my bedroom

I took an old black vase and sprayed it white
Added a bit of burlap as well as a burlap sunflower

It seems to be the best I can do of late

The holiday's have Always been the happiest time of year
And even though I anticipate happiness to flood my soul
There is still something missing without Mark
I keep asking God why he had to pass on Christmas Eve ~ sigh

Maybe this weekend I'll get motivated
And fluff my house all up for the Fall
Cheer me on :)
Blessings To All!!

  2. Your Fall wreath is so pretty, Cindy.

This time of year always brings a yearning of sorts to me, too. It makes me miss "home" as I used to know it...and to miss those that have gone before me.

I don't know why Mark had to die when he did- some things just make no sense at all. But, I do think that his death came on a night when a Savior was born and maybe there is a spot of joy in that....because you know that now they celebrate Mark's re-birth along with the another humble birth.

    Blessings- xo Diana

  3. Dear Cindy, Love that wreath and the pumpkin too. I love Diana's vantage point, but still it must be so hard to go through the holidays without your hubby. Thinking of you tonight and sending big hugs.

  4. Your fall wreath is pretty Cindy. Is that your front door? Where on earth did you find one with hearts on it like that? I LOVE it.

Your inside decorations are lovely too.

I've done a little, not much.

I always enjoyed holidays too, but having lost my own Mark, (Dec 9th), 11 days before his 65th bday and Christmas coming up in 16 days, the holidays do have a sadness to them these days. We can't help but miss the love of our lives, our best friends, the ones who loved us best.

We just have to picture them smiling with eyes twinkling as they are with Jesus and all is right for them and will be right for us.

I like to remember the following verses from Hebrews 12:1-2a ~

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, (those who believe and have gone on before us)
let us lay aside every weight,
the sin which doth so easily beset us,
let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
    Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;

Love and hugs to you dear Cindy. May you feel God's loving arms wrapped around you this holiday season.

  5. Your front door wreath is so pretty and cheerful, Cindy! That's a cute pumpkin on your bedside table, too. I think it's so important to add a little seasonal decor to all areas of our home. It doesn't have to be much, but just a little something that evokes a smile.

I cannot even imagine what you are going through, Cindy, with the loss of Mark. I do truly believe that our lost loves are watching over us, and want us to be happy. I love what Nana Diane said. Just as we celebrate Jesus' birth, maybe you can celebrate Mark's life.

    Hugs Dear Friend,
    Carol

I know our precious Lord will give you an extra measure of grace and comfort during the holiday season. I pray He allows his presence to be known to you in very tangible ways.
