What's In The Jar?

One of my Favorite Treats to myself
Is to spend a few hours walking through an antique mall
For some reason it brings comfort
As well as a flood of wonderful memories
Of hours spent with my Hubby searching for just the right
Item that needed to come home with us
We Loved to antique together
It's one of the things I miss most

A few weeks again I needed a mental health day
I took a day off work
And headed to one of my Favorite antique malls
"Merchant Square"

I had no plan, no list, no time frame
Just a few hours to walk around and 'be'

A little while into my visit
I spied this old time bobbin/spool of orange thread
I didn't think I had a use for it
Until I remembered the glass jars I purchased at a yard sale
A few weeks before

I picked up the bobbin and began a quest for just the perfect
Set of items to hang out in one of my glass jars
During the Fall Season

As you can see
I began finding some really cute things
I started with the bobbin
Then found the Bat Cookie Cutter for $1
And then the orange marble for 75 ¢

I loved the packet of pumpkin seeds 25 ¢

This adorable little Christmas book
Just screamed my name
A little pricey at $5
But I needed it ☺

Then I found the perfect fall hankie $1
And a little container of orange sequins 75 ¢

I got the pumpkin salt/pepper shakers
At my brothers garage sale $1
I already had the piece of fabric that I folded and tied with some black ribbon
And I had purchased the orange necklace a few years ago at Savers
I painted some pumpkin faces on it and wore it for halloween

SO, That's what's in the JAR this year
I truly enjoyed my fun day and finding these pieces
The other jar is filled with orange and white confetti
That I've had in the garage for a few years

And now Just Because
I took the photo the other day
It's how my son takes his fall naps
Pumpkin Pillow over his face
HOW do you sleep like that???

Happy Halloween All

Wednesday Word

Tonight's Word is Hard

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other,
just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:32

"Do not let the sun go down on your anger."  Ephesians 4:26b

Life is so terribly fragile
I work very hard to live in harmony and grace with others
Especially since losing my Mark

Today has become just one more reminder of this fact

Friends whom I love
Lost their son this morning
Unexpected
Shocked
Heart Breaking
Pain
Sickening
Gut-Wrenchingly Painful

Please friends
Read God's Words
We never know what the next moment will hold

Please do not hold anger or bitterness
Please make amends with those whom have hurt you
Find peace with those you have hurt
Don't let one more day end
Without forgiving or seeking forgiveness
Tomorrow may be too late

Let's make a point friends
Live the Character of Christ
Love, Forgive, Be a Peace Maker
Reach out.......
Don't wait in bitterness or self pity
No Regrets
Reach out Now........

The 'Breast' Report

HA - I actually wanted to write The BEST Report, however I didn't get the 'all clear' from my Doctor today so I'll just give you the quick version of the Breast report!

Most tests!!

The specialist isn't convinced I'm in the clear so she wants to see all previous mammograms and ultra sounds.

Next week I'll have another bilateral ultra sound.

Depending on the results of that, she would like to schedule an MRI.

"Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. The will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31

My hope is always in the Lord
I lay this at the foot of His cross
Knowing that He is my creator
He planned my days from beginning to end
I shall not Fear!!!

Be Blessed Tonight Dear Friends

It is now time to go to Dairy Queen :)

Just Fallin' Around

Today was my Favorite day of the Week
Thursdays are for my grand-girlies
I had two of them today
So between playing, chasing, changing diapers
Eating, napping and playing some more
I was able to Fall Around Just a bit

I don't really have TONS of fall decor
However, yard sales have been super this year
I got the large orange basket and all the leaves for $2 a couple weeks ago

All I did atop my entertainment center
Was to add some fall leaves
Everything else is there all year

On one end of the entertainment center
I have these candles up all year
I just added the Gourd thingy
I'm absolutely Sure that is NOT dust you see up there ;)

This is just above the TV
Also a part of the entertainment center
Someday, maybe I'll show the entire center to you

These few items sit on my hutch
It is a piece that came from Bodie, California
It belonged to my husband's great aunt
I'll show that to you as well some day
I may take a few close-ups of the filled jar on the left
It was a super fun project

I'm not sure I like this little vignette but it is what it is
I keep the basket out all year with red balls in it
But decided for fall I'd fill it with
white/tan balls, large acorns and pumpkins

And lastly for tonight
This little guy is usually filled with un-shelled nuts
During the fall season
This year I decided he needed a break
So I filled his pack with light weight frosted gourds
He is So Delighted :)

Wednesday Word

Are you facing a situation that the enemy
Is using to fill your heart with fear?

I am facing just such a situation...

"Do NOT Fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed,
for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
 Isaiah 41:10

Yet, the Lord reminds us of His promise!
He Is Here!!!

Hallelujah!!!

If you are facing something
I would love to pray for you

Yet, I Shall Not Fear

I wondered why I had not yet received the little 'all clear' postcard in the mail after my recent mammogram.  Usually it arrives routinely in about 7-10 days. However, this time it has been over 2 weeks and no card.

Today, I received a phone call.  Ms Cain? We need to send you to a Breast Specialist.

Yes, a Specialist!
I have experienced some abnormal and concerning
changes that need further testing.
You know how those words can ignite fear in your heart as they are spoken.
It seems there is a piece of the human soul that begs to worry and grab hold of fear

Only this time, I remained calm and at peace.
I proceeded to make the necessary phone call and set up my appointment for next week.

I wait quietly before God,
for my victory comes from him.
Psalm 62:1

You will keep in perfect peace him, whose mind is steadfast,
because he trusts in you.
Isaiah 26:3

Tonight I remind each of you
Please have your annual check up
Remind your mom's, daughter's, sister's
Aunt's and niece's
As well as your friends

Don't let busyness or apathy
keep you from making an investment in your health

I'll keep you updated
But I am Confident That I will be Just Fine!!!

Wednesday Word

Here is today's word of
Encouragement and Thankfulness

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.  Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Colossians 3:16-17

When you work
When you cook
When you clean
When you pick up after your
spouse or the children
When you shop
When you teach
When to nurture
When you ........

Whatever you do
Whenever you do it
Do it as unto the Lord
It will make a WORLD of difference
In your attitude

You will find Joy and Peace

You will be Blessed
And,
You will become a Blessing!

Fall - Der - Ah

After spending time helping my brother with his garage sale
Hanging out with my mom and sister in law
Helping my niece clean her house after she moved
I finally had a little time this afternoon
To pull out and put up a few fall decorations

I don't have a lot of decorations
But I did purchase this cross for my front door last year
Although I can see my screen needs to be cleaned
I still like it here

I've been putting these little scarecrows up for several years
Along the front walk up to my door
They just add a little cuteness to the plain front area

I may change this a bit
But I like the little doll I purchased last year
And this year I added just a few bits and pieces
I picked up from my brothers garage sale yesterday

I picked up this pumpkin at a garage sale a couple weeks ago for $1
I just put it on a glass platter and added a few fall leaves
It works nicely on my dining room table with a green table cloth

That's it for today
I will hopefully get a few more decorations up
Before it's time to decorate for Christmas :)

Thanks for stopping by!!!

The Denominator ... NO

Purpose, Dream, Goal, Reason, Point, Wish, Project, Plan:
What is the missing common denominator??

Your answers were Awesome and True in almost All Cases
Not so sure about the Caffeine and Coffee :)

A couple were Excellent and very thought provoking to me
Especially this one:
AK (wrote) Things that we should be doing together
We cannot succeed in life alone we must work together and share these things
Scripture does teach us that we are not to try and do this life alone
We, most importantly, need GOD and a personal relationship with Him
Secondly, we do need others, family, friends, co-workers, fellow Christians and people in our lives to help keep us accountable, keep us growing and be encouragements to each other.

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love, and good deeds.  Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching."  Hebrews 10:24-25

Source

These are important aspects of our Purpose in this Life!!

Yet, I have failed and succumbed to the evil of clinical/chemical depression
After my husband passed away, I tried to become involved in ministry again (after taking a break while caring for him), I attempted to participate within the boundaries and guidelines of church rules, and the idealistic 'image' that some people think we need.  After 16 months of offering to try it 'mans' way, I gave up, closed the doors on that part of life and have become a semi-hermit.

So, how does No become the common denominator with the words above?
For the past 18 months I have closed myself off to most everybody with the exception of family and an occasional outing with a friend. I have turned my mind off to ministry in any form. When you have been told (numerous times) that you are not 'good enough', there comes a time you begin to believe it and Live It!!!  That is my failure and my sin! That is why NO, becomes the common denominator in those words.

I have learned to believe that I have No purpose, No dream, No goal, No reason, No point, No wish, No project, and No plan!!!

NOW...
Understanding God's Truth
I Know that is a lie from the enemy
And I know that chemical depression can do that to your mind

The honest truth is though
I have embraced those Lies and now it is time to Turn from my sinful ways and attempt to begin living in the truth of God's Word Again...the way it should be.

And AK, you are correct; we cannot do this life alone, not without each other and most definitely not without God!!!

Thank you for letting me open my heart and share my struggles.
If we would do it more often, we could learn to love each other in spite of our differences and the world could be a happier place~

Bless you all
Good Night!!!

P.S. - AK, because you led me to this post, if you would like the gift card, please private message me your address and I will send it to you:)
